Anticipated reopening date: Sat 8th August

The Mareeba Markets are looking at reopening on Saturday 8th of August. We still have some things to organise, criteria to meet and current Public Health guidelines to follow.

The Public Health Directive has not changed.
  • Outdoor and indoor markets (including farmers markets, food markets and arts and crafts markets) may operate.
  • Market operators must ensure patrons do not gather in groups of more than 10, with no more than one person per 4 square metres and social distancing observed.

Arts and Crafts generally refers to a variety of activities involving items that are handmade by the stall holder.
Items that are mass produced do not meet the criteria of arts and crafts.

We therefore respectfully ask, that stall holders who do not meet the criteria of farmers markets, food markets or arts and crafts markets refrain from attending or requesting attendance at our markets at this time. We are also limiting stalls to Permanent Stallholders only, at this time and not taking booking requests for the August market. This may change depending on the Covid-19 Guidelines closer to the date.

We are also considering putting more distance between stall sites to allow for social distancing of stallholders. This will mean some stalls will be moved, temporarily and less stall sites will be available. Stallholders will be contacted closer to the date with more information.

We all want our markets to reopen and continue to operate, so please help us to open and move forward to a time when all stall holders can return.

We thank everyone for their continued support during these difficult times.
